The Archivio Mario Schifano fondly remembers the presence of Marianne Faithfull among the important moments of Mario Schifano, which began in a very short season in 1969, but continued in the following decades, even beyond the artist's death, when Marianne was close to Marco Giuseppe Schifano, to Monica, with a warm exchange of mutual news.

Marianne’s (and Mario’s) life and loves bear witness to a period and a way of looking at reality, in which projects were made by living, and in which the sense of independence prevailed over everything, even over oneself. Faithful to this purpose and this attitude, despite everything and everyone, Marianne’s life is an example of how one wanted – and could – look at the world with eyes full of hope and freedom.
