The inclusion in the Archive of one or more Works attributable to Mario Schifano can only be requested via this site, by completing the online form and sending documents, information and digital photographic images.
The Archivio Mario Schifano Commission expresses its Opinion for the Insertion of the Work in the Archive exclusively through the examination of the transmitted material.
The quality of the photographs, the accuracy and completeness of the documentation are therefore fundamental in order to proceed with issuing the Opinion.
You are therefore requested to scrupulously follow the guide for preparing the files to send, which can be consulted here.
If the documentation and materials required are deemed not to be sufficient to formulate an opinion about authenticity, the Commission may request the direct analysis of the work. In this case, the Archivio will make an appointment with the collector or applicant.

Requests for the Inclusion of the Work in the Archive may be submitted to the Opinion of the Commission only in the presence of complete documentation and professional quality photographic files.
The opinion expressed by the Archivio Commission is determined on the basis of the most current knowledge acquired regarding the artistic production of Mario Schifano and can be changed at the discretion of the Archive only in case of significant objective evidence and documented occurred.
Each Opinion on the Inclusion of the Work in the Archive will be given unanimously by the members of the Archivio Commission and signed by the President.
In the 40 days following the Examination Session, the applicant will receive the Opinion expressed by the Commission by registered letter, which may contain either the Number of Insertion in the Archive, or a brief negative opinion on the inclusion of the Work in the Archive.
To start the evaluation of the Requests it is necessary to pay by bank transfer, as a flat-rate reimbursement for expenses and activities related to consulting, the amount corresponding to the type of Work, as indicated in the cost table published opposite.
It is possible to make a single cumulative payment for several Requests made simultaneously.
Even if the Works are not deemed to have the necessary requirements for inclusion in Mario Schifano's General Archive, the payment is not refundable.
The issuance of the opinion constitutes an intellectual work in accordance with articles 2230 and following of the Italian Civil Code.

The Technical Report is optional and is in addition to the Opinion for the Inclusion of the Work in the Archive.
If the Applicant wishes to obtain the Technical Report on the Work which illustrates in detail the technical-scientific and historical reasons underlying the issuing of the Opinion itself, an explicit request must be made by paying the corresponding amount, in addition to that for the Archiving Request.
The Archivio Mario Schifano does not make economic estimates on works or their sale.

L’Opera ritenuta idonea dalla Commissione sarà inserita nell’Archivio Generale di Mario Schifano con un Numero di Inserimento univoco, che verrà comunicato al Richiedente con apposita certificazione, contestualmente all’esito del Parere.
In caso di smarrimento della certificazione, potrà essere rilasciato il duplicato, per una sola volta e a fronte del rimborso spese di Euro 50,00 iva inclusa, ove siano inviati tramite email all’indirizzo archiviazioni@marioschifano.it la seguente documentazione:
In caso di passaggio di proprietà dell’Opera è possibile richiedere la variazione dei dati nel database dell’Archivio, scrivendo all’indirizzo: archivio@marioschifano.it.
In tal modo l’Archivio Mario Schifano potrà contattare il nuovo proprietario per richiedere il prestito dell’Opera per eventuali e future esposizioni.
The Archive reserves all rights to publish the Work itself.
Any requests for authorization for the reproduction of images of works protected by copyright can be sent directly to S.I.A.E.
The Work will also be published in the Online General Catalog, currently under development, where it will be possible to verify the Archive Entry Number assigned to it.
The Work's file, published in the Online General Catalogue, will or will not contain summary information on the Ownership in accordance with what is written by the Collector in the Archiving Request form, under the heading "Information on Ownership" (Private Collection, Name and Surname of the Collector or other).
The Archivio Mario Schifano guarantees maximum confidentiality of personal information under the Italian Privacy Act in force, will not provide them to third parties and to provide for their cancellation or amendment if the person concerned so requests by mail or by mail / courier.
To start the request for an Opinion for the Inclusion of the Work in the Archive, it is necessary to send the duly completed online form to the Mario Schifano Archive, followed by the documentation and materials listed on this page.
Immediately after completing and sending the Request Form, it is necessary to send the files listed here alongside, relating to the documentation and photographs of the Work.
We remind you that in order for the Request for Insertion of the Work into the Archive to be taken into consideration, it is essential to provide images and files of the highest quality.

The Archivio Mario Schifano will communicate the Commission's Opinion to the Applicant within 40 days of the Examination Session, by registered letter.
